Abstract

The term abstraction indicates a departure from reality in the depiction of an idea or object. The artists lack of accurate, definitive or realist representation can be minimal or it can be fully realised.

Sometimes when I am doodling away I’ll get an idea for an abstract - a certain shape or colour that is exciting to look at will find its way into one of my abstract works.

Occasionally I find myself putting a figurative element  into the abstract and quite a few of these images are evidently leaning towards this type of minimal abstraction.
