Often, when wandering through a gallery, I find I’m mostly drawn to the larger figurative
works. I was lucky enough to see the Carravaggio exhibition at the Uffizi in Florence
a couple of years ago and stood in awe transfixed at his mastery of painting light.
His understanding of anatomy and the way light falls on the human form is second
to none.
I love people watching and always take a sketchbook or iPad with me when I travel.
I often find inspiration flows when I’m sitting in a cafe just watching the comings
and goings of the day to day lives of the locals.
