iPad Art

I received an iPad for my birthday last year and have enjoyed learning about apps and what they can do. After David Hockneys amazing sell out exhibition I wondered what all the fuss was about. Now I know! It’s an amazing tool for any artist and incredibly intuitive to use.

I find the iPad is helping me become more expressive rather than less  - which is surprising.  Then again the iPad is really just another surface on which to draw or paint. You still have to mix up the colours like you would on a palette and decide which of the brushes or tools you want to use to create your marks!

I love the immediacy of working on the iPad and find it invaluable for drawing on the run. Quick thumbnail sketches can be jotted down and used to make more detailed works back in the studio at a later date.
